New commercial / medical development consisting of 6 levels of commercial office spaces, retail units, 3 levels of car parking and end-of-trip facilities. The building has been designed for medical tenants with Pacific Radiology’s flagship branch occupying 2,150 square metres.
At present, southern patients who need a PET/CT scan have to travel to Christchurch for the procedure. This new Dunedin clinic will be able to perform over 2000 PET-CT scans per year, providing a massive uplift in local cancer care services available.
The building has been named Mataukareao by Ōtākou Rūnaka. Mataukareao was a nohoaka and tauraka waka (landing place for waka) at the bottom of present-day Hanover Street. Matau is a hook and Kareao (supplejack) were recorded as growing on the flat below Hanover and Frederick Street.
The premises is being designed for 5 star NABERSNZ and 5 Greenstar rating (defined as being New Zealand Excellence).
ACx’s role was to act as the project’s Independent Commissioning Agent and included documenting services and maintainability reviews, commissioning specifications / plans, interface testing methodology, building tuning plans and commissioning completion test reports.
